Texas A&M Engineering Internship
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire and ability to learn new technologies, systems, and concepts. In addition candidates will possess a strong background in workstation and network support in a Windows environment. Candidates selected for the position will be given extensive training and have the opportunity to learn and work with a wide range of technologies.
Roles & Responsiblilities
- Monitor / review / report daily network status
- Open trouble tickets for customer calls, network outages, client down and email requests
- Maintain proper customer notification and daily updates on trouble tickets
- Respond to customer inquiries and/or troubles
- Initiate customer assisted troubleshooting
- Maintain data entry of customer information
- Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality
- Assist with additional projects as requested by Management
Requirements*
- Full time student
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Minimum 30 hours completed
- Ability to work a minimum of 12 hours per week; night and weekend shifts available
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Required Skills
- Fully capable of setting up a home/office network environment with minimal assistance
- Experience with Microsoft Windows
- Strong communication and documentation skills a must
- Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length
Desired Skills
- Good understanding of TCP/IP
- Ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP network issues
